Windshield wiper stopped moving

During a heavy rain (when else) the drivers side wiper just flopped over to left side and stayed there while passenger side continued to work. Upon inspection it appears that shaft that wiper arm attaches to turns 360 and looking inside generator compartment with a hand held mirror I can see shaft turn. Is this suppose to be welded to the link or something? Any suggestions on how to fix? John

not exactly the same ...

I had a similiar problem but not exactly the same ...

My driver's side wiper (2004 Journey) was not working properly ... in my case I discovered that the mechanism on the back side that "orients" the arm had loosened.

To fix it ... I pulled the rubber grommet cover forward exposing the nut ... I then reached inside and oriented the mechanism so that it was in the right position (judging from the position of the mechanism on the passenger side).

I then tightened the nut so the mechanism stayed in the proper orientation ... ran the wipers ... made a fine tuning adjustment ... then re-tightened the nut ... and slid the grommet back on ... it has worked fine since ...

I hope yours is as simple ...
