It's time for a new set of wiper blades (complete blade not just the inserts) for our 06 Journey. The OEM wipers are 24" long and I will replace with the same but my question is can I just replace them with good quality automotive blades or are there RV specific blades? They appear to mount via a small screw and nut that goes through the wiper arm and onto the actual blade support. It's not a clasp mechanism that you would find on most auto applications today.

Thanks, Dan

I got my 32", complete with hardware, at Walmart. They fit and work just fine.

Personally I went to to NAPA and replaced them with inserts. I believe they were under $15. I have the number at home if you like I can post it later.

If you are to replace the entire assembly I would also go to NAPA. Ask them to look in the heavy truck catalog. There is quite a difference in wiper blades for a car or light truck that you buy at Walmart or Costo vs. a reputable auto parts store.

Let me know if you need that number..

NAPA wanted about $45 EACH for my 32" blades... I looked at a 28" they had and it was not any better than Walmart. I also don't think any car or light truck has 32" blades :-) so the one's at Walmart suit me fine. I think I paid around $15 each for the 32" from Walmart... that lets me replace them 3 times a year for the price of NAPA!!

WOW .. $45 each. They must be charging you the full list price. Do you go there for any other parts or have any relationship with them?

At first we could not find refills so we were going to get the entire assembly, they were around $25 each. Then after a little more investigating we found the 60-2401 refills worked splendidly.

So now I keep all the part numbers handy from NAPA for future reference.

Love the NAPA by us..

$45. is about the right "wholesale" price for the correct wiper blade, there really is a big difference in a truck/RV type wiper blade and one for a passenger car/pick pickup truck style. More than just the correct length.

I agree 100% , we compared the two and there is a noticeable difference in weight and construction.

Even on the wiper blades for your car. I have purchased blades from Costco and WalMart, they would wear out very quickly. Then I got a set from a auto parts store. They last much longer.

I just replaced mine with AutoZone brand, 24 inch. I drilled out the center rivet, and then made the hole slightly larger to accept the bolt. This is how I have been replacing mine since most places don't sell the refills anymore.

Just a heads up. If you purchase from NAPA & you have AAA service they will give you a 7% discount on all purchases, just show your card to the clerk.

On my 05 Journey, the original equipment windshield wipers were manufactured by Dyna. I searched the web and found a company that carried Dyna in the exact size (they principally supply to bus companies). I bought two and they are identical to what came on my motorhome. Cost $14.40 each plus shipping at $12.08. Total for two replacements wipers delivered was $40.88.

Part number: BD52147. Dyna 24" wiper blade.

My original blades are Dyna. I found the 28" blades here: .: TAC :. Transportation Accessories Company for $14.89 each. Locally they are $36 each.

I had a problem with the arm fitting into a new assembly. the arm from the motor was to wide. So I just installed the wiper refill. Slipped the old 28 inch blade out and put in the new replacement filler.
