We have a 2004 Winnebago Brave RV, on the dash there is a switch that says radio power, it then has two options - switch to Engine or House. I seeme to remember that we switched the radio to Engine when driving to play the radio, however when we were coming home yesterday it would only work with the switch in the House position, isn't the house position only for when you are hooked up at a site with power and the Engine option for when you are driving? Worried about battery drain when we are driving. Anyone know what I am talking about? Would love to know before we leave on our trip. Thanks for any info

Engine= using the 12 volt engine (chassis) battery
House= using the two 6 volt house battery

I use the house if I want to listen to the radio when the engine is off. Perhaps the engine side power blew a fuse...

To affirm: House for parked and Engine for driving. There is a loose or bad electrical connection on the Engine side. If you can see the back of the switch, it should have three wires attached to it. One for +12 vdc from the engine battery, one for +12 vdc from the house batteries, and one to the radio. If that's ok then maybe a loose connection to the engine battery.

I must be missing something. My previous MH had that switch and so does my current one. It's never been in anything but the house postion. The house batteries are charged by the engine alternator when the engine is running and they are supplied by the convertor or charger when you're plugged in. Why switch over to the engine side?

My only guess it that they want the radio to go off when you shut off the engine so you have to make a conscious decision to switch over to the coach batteries and possibly run them down if you're boondocking.
