I'm a first-time RV owner. I bought a Winnebago 170 XL. I read in the Owner's Supplement that a new vehicle or a vehicle that has been stored for some time should have the potable water supply sanitized and refilled. They just don't happen to mention how I should drain the tank. I've been under it (just a cursory look) and I can't seem to find any drain plug. Any help out there in RV-land? Rich and Linda

richmca: Not sure what a 170XL is, but MY Winne uses a quarter-turn ball valve to drain the fresh water tank. It isn't easily visible, but it is right beside the tank (inside the compartment) and moving the handle 90* will allow the stored water to pour out under the coach. Try looking for a valve handle and some plastic piping "near" the tank itself. I don't think they provide a "plug". Good luck, and WELCOME to iRV2.com! Ed
