Winnebago Factory tour

We enjoyed touring the Winnebago plant today. Very impressive setup with museum, gift shop, service center, rally area etc. Excited to be part of this scene with our new Minnie Winnie 31D. We like the convenience of factory service only 2 hours from home. 39 service bays. It was enlightening to see how much work goes into producing these coaches. Tour guide Mark was very welcoming and willing to answer questions. If you are special ordering, you can arrange a tour that includes watching your own coach go down the line.

Don't know if I would really want to see my coach being made,,, kind of like watching them make sausage.

Sounds like a great experience. Living on the west coast, I'm closer to the Junction City faculty. I hope they add tours there eventually.

I ordered my 2004 Phaeton and went to the factory when it was scheduled to be built. They actually let me sit in the unit for 3 days while it went through assembly. It was an incredible experience!

Awesome! That must have been amazing to see your coach literally being built up around you!

We took the tour back when we had a Winnebago Chieftain. Very nice, with a friendly tour guide that pointed out the various work stations as we went along the elevated walkway. That is, until I asked where was the work station that added the squeaks and rattles. Lots of laughs from the crowd, but the tour guide was not amused.

What I'd like to do is visit with the engineers. Maybe show them my '02 and point out where their designs failed or where they did an excellent job. Really like to talk to them about how they made the engine sooooo inaccessible. Maybe whack one or two of them upside the head.

We attended the GNR this past July We were there a week early to get work done on our 2016 Sightseer and we took the tour.

When we were leaving the GNR our bedroom slide failed so we had to stay over for repairs. We went on the tour a second time.

Safe travels. JD

Our guide said there will be a weekly tour (reservations required) starting in the Spring of 2017.
