Monty, that is a great buy at Northern Tool, also one of my favorite places to shop. When we were in Florida a couple of months ago my Sister-N-Law offered me a very nice generator about that size. My back just can't handle over 50 lbs so we just stick to camping areas with electricity and water at a minimum.
I know Ken, last year I purchased the Champion 3500/3200running inverter from Camping World for about 1100 + tax.. With my 2106fbs the power cord reached to the rear of my truck where I kept it.. This 2200ss is about 5 ft longer sadly my cord comes up about 3 1/2 ft short.. Your cord probably reaches your Genset in the truck with no problem.. I did keep my power cord from the totaled unit , been meaning to get it made into an extension cord..However I liked the one from Northern Tool better but not at the 1500 bucks..

Monty, seems like it would be pretty easy to find a socket on eBay or Amazon to make the old one into an extension cord. Do you leave the gen in your truck all the time? Is it locked down?

For those in the market for a generator. Harbor freight recently introduced a 3500/3000 watt invertor generator. My nephew purchased one last week to replace a 3000 watt Honda on one of his tow trucks. He paid $659 with a coupon. It's seems to be just as quiet as my 3100 Champion.

Yep , tailgate locks auto with keyfob..Also with the ram management system you get a locking partition which makes it impossible to slide the gen out, I have 2 of them since I kept the one from my totaled 2016..The gen can not slide forward or backward.. I am sick as a dog today, feels like the flu ..

Monty, I think the adapter in the link will solve your power cable issue.

This generator looks like a good buy if anyone is looking for one.

Edit: In one of the reviews I read " Not for use on small 120 volt/ 30 amp campers. AC out is 120 volts at 13.5 amps on 2 circuits, not 1. Go to the 5000 watt unit." Maybe not so good after all.

All 1801FB Owners?
Prepping for another trip; and wanted to know if the the double cabinet above our dinette truly has a dead space between the two cabinets? Has anyone ever open it up yet or used that space... only thing around it is our dinette light below... would love to reclaim the space IF really available... but did not want to open unless usable... Please Advise?

Confused Ken,,,I do not need an adapter, just a 4 ft 30 amp ext cord

I thought I read that you kept the power cord from your previous trailer. The adapter would allow you to join the new cable and the old cable together.

Monty, Cminnie is right. Just order the adapter and plug your old cord into the new cord using the adapter. The extra length won't hurt a thing.

We have a 1706fb with cabinet over dinette. I used the dead space to install a digital voltmeter. There is nothing in the space except the wires feeding the dinette light. The wires are loose and run along the bottom of the shelf.
