Overall we’ve been very pleased with our 2401rg. Since we changed the dinette into a permanent daybed we seem to have gained some room, as we don’t always have to share the couch with the dog. We had a few minor issues in the beginning, which were quickly fixed. My biggest gripe is with the placement of the bathroom sink and faucet. An off set installation would have resulted in more usable counter space and corrected the fact my faucet is now so close to the wall you can’t clean nor dry behind it. I know it will have to be replaced eventually as there is no way to avoid water damage in that area.

2 years later and I still haven’t seen any other floor plan I’d prefer more. I noticed a decline in the quality of the build from when we first started looking at winnebagos back in 2015, but this one is still built far better than the majority of the other offerings in this area especially.

Hello-- newby here. Purchased a pre-owned 2013 Minnie 2101DS a few weeks ago and put it way for the winter. I've found the previous posts very helpful. My first rodeo.

I've been into motorcycle touring for a number of years, but age is catching up no matter how fast I ride. So I thought I'd look into the trailer opportunities before I get too old. Maybe the wife and our Scottie and Westie will want to come along for the ride too.

Hope to run across some of you in the future. Best wishes.

Welcome skipn. We put 15,000 miles on a 2014 2101DS until we traded up to a 2250DS. I'm sure you will have a lot of fun in it. By all means take the little dogs with you. Our Sonny, a Shih Tzu, goes every where with us. He loves traveling and lots of new places to sniff.

Congrats on your new to you trailer, but what's this put away for the winter??? That's what trailers are for, heading south so we can keep riding. Living in Canada, getting an RV allowed us to keep riding in the winter months and once we got a dog, then a second dog it just makes sense to RV. Way easier than trying to find dog friendly hotels.

Why we camp, so we can either hike or ride to beautiful places and enjoy nature...

WOW! Nice photos Bross. Just got back Wednesday from Minnies on the Mountain, a gathering of Winnebago towables just north of Huntsville Alabama. We had 35 Micro Minnies and Minnies attend. We had a great time. It was 20 degf when we left on Tuesday. Skipn, this is what winter camping is about. The last photo is Alan Little, a Huntsville celebrity and Minnie Owner singing for us. He is great.

Thanks for the welcomes.

I decided we have too many irons in the fire, and now is not the time to outfit the Minnie and learn the ins and outs of towing. Plus the weather will be hit or miss driving into/out of snow since we can't stay away until spring.

First time out will be a real learning experience, but I want to be at least somewhat prepared and keep the angst to a minimum.

I have the same neighbors-- a 6 point buck walked across the front yard an hour before a 10 point walked by in the corn field outside the back yard. Hunting season opened yesterday, and they know I don't hunt, I guess.

Probably best to start your first trip in the spring.

I think so, but currently there appears to be more activity on the Winnie Owners site.

We don't have much going on right now. MM is covered for Winter.

My next project is to install a Renogy 20 AMP DC/DC charger in the pass through of the MM. Today I ordered the remainder of the parts and pieces. Will start by wiring the Tacoma first and then the MM.

Just a quick comment if you're new to Winnebago. They (as do many other mfrs) have a, owner's club. The WIT (Winnebago International Traveler's) Club entitles you to local outings thru local chapters, discounts on parts, tours, and the annual Grand National Rally held at the factory. The GNR includes seminars, entertainment, and fun - plus factory service and service done by specific vendors (e.g, Carefree, Dometic, MCD, etc). Best of luck on your final decision!

Here are the 3 most active Winnebago sites on Facebook:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/425391114324531/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/997622507275340/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/452668305423402/

They are all private groups and if you already on Facebook all you have to do is request to join. All very friendly groups.

this is an old post so don't know if people are still reading about this, but I have read that they (mice and pack rats) don't like light so open your vehicle hood at night and even possibly mount some stick on leds under the Trailer and in engine compartment.

Welcome Randyn1. We never had any mice or rats. What RV do you have?
