The plumbing system is an assortment of PEX, Flair-It, and PVC types of fittings, hoses, etc. Should I invest in a PEX Tool Set ($89 at Lowe's) or Flair-It tools? What items should I carry for the routine RV water leaks?

I just bought a cutting tool at ACE Hardware that cuts PEX/PVC for $10.00. Used it yesterday and it works fine. I carry 6 foot of PEX and several type of PEX fittings for repairs.

Don't overlook Shark Bite connectors for easy repairs.

We changed every fitting to brass. Should never have a leak again.

Some fitting were adapted larger/smaller according to the appliance be serviced.

Costs: about $140.00 (had two fittings machined). And about 20 hours (yes, I had a lot of free time). I only trust myself for this type of work.

Sharkbite is a quality product. I just went another way... Of course DW has fallen in love with the 2011 QD's. lol

Thanks for the feedback -- I'm going with the SharkBite, installing a few at a time. I find myself constantly tightening leaking fittings jarred loose by road vibrations -- not something I want to be doing now that we are full-timing. In the past, while at the 'stik and brik' between trips, this was part of my after trip PM. I've got better things to do (??) now that I don't have a damn thing to do "Yes Honey", "I'll get right on it!"
