Does anyone have any tips on winter camping? We're thinking about taking the kids to Yellowstone in the winter to Mammoth Hot Springs campground which is open year round, does not have any hookups, no generators 8 p.m.-8 a.m. With the cost of the winter activities just can't afford the lodge prices. Has anyone here in the forum camped there in the winter and what was it like? any help appreciated. thanks!

Herkyflyer, if you do a search on winter camping, you will see quite a bit of information. There has been quite a bit of discussion on the list about this in the past. Hope this helps.

Be very aware that running your furnace and etc. on batteries will depleat them quite quickly in cold weather. I hope that the search previously mentioned will answer many of your questions.
