Winter Storage and AGM batteries

When one of our second set of wet cell batteries shorted, I replaced them with AGM's. Is there anything special I need to do while the coach is in winter storage in relation to these batteries? It will be plugged into 30amp service thoughout the storage. What about leaving a 12 volt light on to put a draw on the batteries? Will this help in not overcharging the batteries?

Thanks all......

Same as any other Lead Acid battery

Charge 'em up to full and pull the negative lead off 'em to insure zero parasitic loads

Optional slap on a Battery Minder or Battery Tender or equivalent

But since AGM's hold their charge better than Flooded wet cells,, that is truly an option.. I would not spend the money myself.

I agree with the other post. Pulling current will not help. BUT, you MUST have a 3-stage charger. PD9245 or so. That will keep the batteries healthy and you need only check them on a 3 month basis. I went 8 months and then had to add about 3 oz. of distilled water total to all cells.

Be sure you put a Battery Minder on the engine battery also.
