Being that I like to save money where I can I decided to figure out a way to use the installed Sirrus antennafor my existing XMRadio that I use from car to car to house. So I reviewed the schematics and found where the Sirrus radio was suppose to be. I took off the driver side window post molding to expose any wires/antennas coming down from the roof. Sure enough I found the Sattelite radio antenna lead. I traced it to the radio and unhooked it from the radio. Now to test it to see if I can use it with the XMRadio -- Wallah it worked. So I tried to pull the antenna lead down and got about 2 ft but that was it. So installed the XMRadio on the left lower portion of the dash just above the parking brake release where there are some warning placards. Ran the AUX2 leads from the dash radio to the XMRadio and tremporarily I will use the 12V socket on the dash. Sounds great!! I will wire a new 12V socket within the dash next time I am working on her. It is a very nice setup. I have a remote so DW can change stations if she likes.
If I did not already have a subscription to XMRadio I would probably have done all this but I do like Sat Radio. The stations I listen to are commercial free and play great oldies.
