XRV10 stereo in Winnebago

I have a new Winnebago Forza and would like to connect my iPhone to the XRV10 monitor. The manual says that this is done using an HDMI av adaptor which I just purchased. I'm assuming that there's a HDMI port on the rear of the XRV10 that's accessed by removing the unit from the dash. Can anyone confirm that? I don't want to dismantle the thing for nothing.

This has come up on other threads before a few times but as of now, no one on these forums has tried the Apple HDMI on the XRV10 with their iPhone or iPad.

A recent thread Jensen/ASA XRV10 iPhone integration?

Connect iPhone to Jensen XRV10 stereo

I resolved my issue. To connect my iPhone (Android requires a slightly different approach) to the HDMI port on my 10" Jensen monitor in my 2019 Forza 34T:

Remove 2 screws from the dash above the stereo head unit.

Pull or carefully pry out the two air conditioner vents (held by friction only, no fasteners). Remove two screw behind the vents to remove the plastic housing around the stereo.

Remove 4 screws holding the head unit in place.

HDMI port is amidst the glob of cables. Plug in a cord and route it to an accessible place.

This allows mirroring phone images on the monitor, so Google Maps or other NAV apps can be used. Turn by turn voice directions also work. Photos, videos, anything on the phone is mirrored on the monitor.

Done! All's that needed is a T20 torx & a phillips. And an HDMI cable. Have some tape handy too, so that you can secure the connected HDMIs together.

Only disappointment for me is that touchscreen isn't supported for iPhone; the head unit pops a message saying only Android is supported . Still, there's room to lay the iPhone flat under the heat/AC controls and easily operate its screen from there.

Thanks again Frozen for your pioneering work.

Following up my previous post: HDMI presentation of the iPhone (and I would guess Android) to the XRV10 screen does not work if the parking brake is released. Instead, you're presented with a lawyerspeak popup warning that watching videos while driving is illegal. HDMI from phones will only work with the parking brake engaged. There is no way to get past this screen.

I will dig out the radio's wiring diagram in hopes to learn how to override this nannystate setting - one of the wires must be connected to a parking brake signal somehow. What's next? ...how will they prevent me from watching a movie on the 48" TV right behind the passenger seat while I'm driving? Then what? ...a toilet seat interlock preventing me from taking a p while I'm driving?

Wondered if you have made any progress on this issue, as I'm considering purchasing this unit, but being able to mirror my iPhone for navigation is a requirement for me, otherwise, I'd just buy a stereo and a separate camera system with a standalone monitor.

I did find this video link that describes workarounds to the brake issue:

If you haven't found that already, I hope this helps.

Let me know how it works out, or if you've already worked it out please, and thank you!
