Read the info about the show at Ky. Interested in the Sunstar with the new Maxforce7 chassis. Have not purchased A class yet. Interested in Sunstar/Vista, Sightseer/Sonova. Adventurer/Sightseer probably too steep $ for us $. Any info on the Maxforce7 or where can I find out about this? Is this a proven chassis like the Workhorse? Will be living in the RV in SE MN 10 months to get to work. Will probably have to stay in a hotel for Jan and Feb months. Any mention of putting double payned windows on this unit? 2009 did not offer this?

Jim,

I did a search on Maxforce 7 and found an article from International that describes the Maxxforce 7 diesel engine. This sounds like a new diesel that would be on a front engine Workhorse chassis. If you intend to live in it 10 months a year, I would suggest the Sightseer instead of the Vista. The trim level is higher, and it would be more comfortable. In addition, the basement storage on the Sightseer looks to be considerable compared to the Vista.

Right now, Diesel fuel is more expensive than gasoline, so the operating costs would be about the same assuming that the diesel gets better mileage. However, the torque curve on the diesel is better than a gas engine, and it will deliver high torque over a wider speed range than a gas engine. The negative is that the engine is louder than a gas engine, so be sure to drive the unit and see if is comfortable to drive.

Since this will be a 2010 model, you have some time to go to a dealer and check out both motorhomes. Then, once the engine becomes available on a motorhome chassis, check out the operating characteristics.

Good Luck

W8RLM - Bob

Thanks a lot. We didn't think about the noise level in the front end. We will have fun trying out the RVs. Jim and Lisa Call
