We haven't been to a GNR but are thinking that 08 might be the year. LOL has something scheduled for the Saturday before and I don't think I can get to Forest City from Indy in a day. What kind of problems will I have if we get there late? (sometime Monday). How much happens on Sunday the opening day?

One impact of arriving on Monday would be less traffic on check-in!! I don't think arriving on Monday would be a big deal compared to Sunday, and I KNOW you will not be the only Monday arrival. We (along with many other folks) would arrive nearly a week early for the MILWIT rally on the grounds. There are several groups that have activities the week before. I think the main impact on you would be that you would be further down the list for factory service if you want that, but should still be able to get an appointment. That is one thing you have to do in person at the factory service desk.

We've been to only one GNR (2006), and like you are thinking we will attend again next summer.

2008 will be Winnebago's 50th anniversay year. I am sure there will be some special activities at the GNR.

Arriving on Monday wouldn't be a big problem. Not much happens on Sunday. Sunday evening is the opening ceremony. Things don't really start until Monday. If you are going to park in your state row, just let them know so that they can plan on you coming in on Monday.

Arrived Monday Morning last year because we would have arrived just after the 5:00 pm Sunday cut-off after a 2 day run from Connecticut. No waiting to be escorted in. Much more relaxed and well organized arrival than I expected. Probably missed the rush of the weekend.

Around noon I entered my name in the lottery for factory service. Shop scheduled me for 6:30 am!!! on Wednesday.

Our first time last year. REALLY enjoyed it. but will miss it this year due to other plans with our limited vacation time.

Wayne

First year last year.

You won't have any problem arriving on Monday, as the only activity scheduled for Sunday will be the opening ceremony, you will however, miss a lot of the activities scheduled for the pre rally. Many of the tours and off rally grounds activities take place during this time. Many of the siminars are repeated, although not all so you should get to most of them. Tuesdays row party is a don't miss and the evening show is usually worth going to.

Be careful on Friday morning when all of the early birds get ready to leave.
