At $50 per year for nothing more that a poor quality magazine I do not regeret my decision not to join WIT.

The folks we met with at a winter luncheon from our local chapter were very nice and we would have been very happy to pay the local dues of $10 and socialize and camp with them. But $50 as an entry to the organization is a bit steep and the same fee annually is beyond what I will pay.

I wish you all well and hope you have a good time but I just wanted to say why you have one less member that you might.

Sounds like you got some bad information!

For the record, new membership in WIT is $35. Renewal for one year is $30. And there are many more membership benefits than the magazine. You can see the listing on the WIT website at http://www.winnebagoind.com/clubs/wit/benefits.php

As fulltimers, we are not members of any local chapters, but are members of a couple of at large chapters.

I just wanted to commenta little. Your dealer when buying your Winnebago coach was to give you a free 1 year membership. Also, if you have insurance through the club or Farm and City Insurance agency, you get a discount as F & C will pay part!

I think it's worth it to be associated with such a good company and some of the best people that I have met at any RV rally.

When we were struck by lighting, many folks came to our rescue and offered a great many things. Hugs, hand shakes and comforting conversation was the norm rather than the exception and you can't put a price on that.

I wouldn't care if I ever received another magazine. A good organization is exemplified by its members.

iRV2 is one such organization where you can generate a lot of friendship. Again it's the members and it's always so much better when you can come together and camp. One thing's for sure ain't nobody going away hungry!

When we had the Winnie, we belonged to WIT and they were very helpful at all levels. We never joined a local group because the activities were not our thing... plus they were easily 20 years older than us and looking for different activities. But they were a great bunch of folks.

When we got our 04 Brave we were never offered or told we should get a one year membership free. We had to send in the paper work for the warrenty ourselves. We did the same for the Workhorse chassis.

To my knowledge the dealer may or may not offer a membership. One of the duties of the WIT Reps is to convince the dealers to do this. When I got my latest rig from Guranty in Oregon ( big mistake) I got one for FMCA. When you consisder the price of a motor home the $35.00, is pretty insignificant whomever pays for it. Considering that new purchases of Winnebago Products are highly influenced by WIT Members you would think that both the company and the dealers would be big supporters of WIT. Nuf Sed.

The dealers are encouraged to provide the one year membership. Certainly the warenty should have been handled by the dealer. The Workhorse registration is able to be done on-line and provides you with the ability to find if there are any recalls for chassis related issues.

The salesman is not necessarily motivated to do the efforts to get your 1 yr membership - no commision!

Wow I think you are missing the point of WIT. Maybe it is just us but we are in San Antonio now with a great bunch of people. The things we get to see at these Rallies you don't get into without WIT. The cost to go to these Rallies is less than any other tour company. For us it is a great way to travel.
