Thought it was about time to stir things up and state how dissappointed I am in the way the WIT Newsletter has gone. Knowing that sometimes it is necessary to bite the bullet when things get tight financially but to maintain membership, down grading the publication I think was a mistake. Not everyone is going on a rally or caravan nor is everyone in the market for a new rig.
What say you?

Winnebago Itasca Travelers. It is a club you can join if you have a Winnebago or Itasca MH

I tend to agree. And this situation is just not with WIT. I think most all the RV club such as WIT, FMCA, Workhorse, Good Sam, etc. are having money issues and when that happens the priority is to sell advertisement and cut back on labor.
So as you have noted this what quality you get. I think the only answer is good volunteer writers and staff, and I don't think that is going to happen.
I truly think the persons in place are doing the best they can with what they have.
I, personally, am considering cancelling all the memberships I have due to paying more for less. Example, I still work so when we do travel on a long cross country vacation, to be a member of KOA is not cost effective. The membership costs are more than the savings and most of their rates are 20% higher than other similar parks.
So, as noted, I do agree with you.
Happy travels,

Sheila: As stated Winnebago Itasca Travellers (WIT) is a travel club sponsored by Winnebago Industries. Their fees are $35.00, to join and $30.00 per year. On the national level they sponsor,- The Grand National Rally (GNR) in Forest City, IA every year. Attendance is about 1500, rigs with numerous seminars, entertainment and fellowship. Down the line most states have a state club with meetings and rallies, and farther on down local chapters that usually meet once a month for campouts. I have been a member for over 20 years and do enjoy my relationship. At one time the magazine came out monthly and featured news of local campouts and other newsy articles, it now seems to be devoting its pages to advertising WIT activities and partially ignoring the local chapter information.

Yes cost cutting is important in these hard times but I do miss the magazine which is now published on the WIT web site. I was in a discussion in2008 when they announced the cut back ashifting to the web. We have done the same thing with our Boy Scout Council Newsletter and as a VP I voted for the cut back. Now that time has passed I think it a big mistake in both organizations. the reason, many don't have access to the web, others like myself forget it's there ( hard to forget when it comes in the mail) Othe rthings I noticed was i only read the things I was interested in like club news and which clubs did I read about? the ones in NJ so what's the answer? I have no idea, it's like stopping big oil leaks under water, keep trying new things until something works.
Sorry I'll shut up

With your WIT membership you get a 10% discount for work done at the factory service center. Let's just say I saved myself $350 last week. Paid for my membership this year.
