Went to look at an '01 MADP double slide with 47,000 miles on the Cummins ISC. It looks real good, but the CCC was only 1,424 lbs. The tires were 275/70's. I forgot to look at the axle ratings and the chassis manufacturer.

I remember the DSDP's were changing front axles around 2000...but I'm disapointed in the CCC on this rig. It was calculated with 115 gal water and 4 people at 154 lbs each, so I could get a few hundred more pounds. Our old '03 DSDP had around 2,700 lbs CCC. I guess I just figured the MADP would have more :-)

I have a 2002 MADP (4095) on a Freighliner with IFS. The CCC on it is around 3000 pounds. I am surprised at the low rateing that you quoted. Mine has 275/80 tires, but that doesn't impact the CCC, only tire pressure you need to run for a given weight.

Steve,

Given that MADP had the same size tires as DSDP in
that era, it makes sense that MADP would have less
CCC due to more standard and optional equipment.

Differences between MADP's would be down to how it
was optioned. There is a good reason for MADP axles being uprated, as well as tires in subsequent years.

What is the CCC on your Bluebird?

We actually sold the Blue Bird. I don't remember the CCC, but I weighed it once with very little belongings and approx 40 gallons of water and the PT38 (non slide) weighed a over 38,000 pounds. I think the GVWR was around 44,000.

We have a Weekend Warrior toyhauler now, but I'm itching to fulltime again. We've been sedentary for 2 years and I'm bored!

Good memory Jeff!

Steve,

A 38' tag axle? Either that or your rear axle was
rated at 30K lbs! Sorry, I don't know much about Blue Birds.

I've got a previous client I sold an '05 Dutch Star 43' model to that needs to sell due to a health issue. Now that coach has some CCC, like
10,000 lbs--same rating as the tag!

ON EDIT:I looked up your old Bird, it
has a tag of course, but wow, 1000 lbs. per foot!! Now that's a tank!!! I have a neighbor
at my storage yard with an M380, but that's not
a tag, probably because of the lightweight skin.
