02 Newmar Smart Wheel Question

My Smart wheel doesn't light up (illuminate the controls) when the lights are turned on...is it suppose to? If yes...how do you remove the cover to replace the bulbs or check.
I found a link on how to remove, but it isn't the same smart wheel that I have. Any suggestions?

May not be same wheel but may help in your problem for trouble shooting.
