06 MADP No electric hot water

Hi all,

12 gallon Suburban electric/propane water heater. Works fine on propane, not on 110v. I assumed it was the element; so I ordered one with the tool for swapping it out. After I pulled off the cover, I put a meter on the wires to the element and there was no voltage. The switch on the main panel operates, and a light comes on, but no voltage to the element. Noticed that there is an on/off switch next to the element on the heater itself. This switch physically wouldn't operate, so I ordered an new one and replaced it. Still no voltage at the element. The 110v breaker is on, and I flipped it off and back on. I did all this while running generator, as opposed to being plugged in. I don't think this makes a difference, and the light for 110V hot water does come on.

What else should I check?

Thanks,

For a Suburban you have the breaker in RV, maybe a switch for it (some mfgs do, some don't), switch on the WH outside, and then a t-stat and ECO for it, then the element. The t-stat and ECO are under the black cover, LH of the pair. 12V LP t-stat and ECO are the RH side.

Thanks jesilvas and 94-Newmar.

I'll print the trouble shooting guide, and take it with me this weekend.
