06 Ventana AC on generator question

Hi everyone! We bought a used 2006 Newmar Ventana 3631 in January of this year. It only had 7,000 miles on it.

We love it but we do have one question. Does the air conditioner work on generator power when driving down the road? We have two ACs and we tried to run the main air conditioner on generator to cool it off but we couldn't get it to come on.

The AC works great in all other conditions.

Thanks for the help!

Yes the AC should work on the genny.

Make sure all your 120 volt items when the genny is on.

Double check the breaker on the genny, with it off flip the breaker off and back on. Then start and try everything.

Thanks for your help. We couldn't find a breaker for the generator but we found a reset button. Nothing we have tried has worked. We have read the CAT book and it has no information about this issue. We will try to find something online to help.

If we can't get it to work, would a CAT repair place be able to work on it since it is a CAT generator and engine?

There should be a breaker on the generator itself. You should also be able to download a generator manual just by googling the make and size. Click on this link then choose the generator, it then gives you the manual download. Cummins Onan

There should be circuit breakers on the Gen if they are ok than the connections from Gen to transfer switch may need to be checked for loose wiring under screws in TS.
