07-08 London Aire fiberglass-paint issue (checking)

We are looking at 07-08 London Aire's and am wondering about fiberglass-paint-checking problems. Our 04 Essex went back to factory on 11 for new fiberglass and paint and wanted to know if anyone had information on the London Aire's also having this problem. Newmar did a great job at a very fair adjusted price on our Essex. Changed the colors and was very pleased withe work. Just wanted see if this something that needs to be looked. Thanks Tom

My understanding from talking with my service writer Todd Miller, who happens to be a high line service writer, is that 2006 was the last year the high line used the bad sidewall material.

Standard line coaches were built with the bad material until 2008. Our coach was one of the last coaches built with the bad sidewalls. It's at Newmar now waiting for us to pick it up, we had the sidewalls replaced and quite a bit of other work done.

I have a 2008 Ventana. What should I be looking for if it happens? All sidewalls look fine right now.

On your dark colors there will be small cracks when you get close to the side wall. Once the 'checking' starts after a year or so the paint will start to chip off and the only long term fix is to replace fiberglass. Should be able to find a lot of other info. on this website.
