hello all,

I would be very interested in hearing from those of you that own or have owned the Kountry Star on the 190" wheelbase. I understand it is under the 50% rule (length vs wheelbase) however it seems to be a very nice moho. Newmar continues to build on the wheelbase with the Vantana so it must be a very stable platform?? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

thanks

Welcome to the forum, Bootman. I had a Mountain Air 37' that had a less than ideal wheelbase to over all length ratio in '99. It handled well on the road without issues. The only one thing was the distance from the rear wheel center to the rear most of the coach created a poor departure angle. This resulted in the need to be careful as to any steep driveways as it could ground. So I watched out for steep ramps and got along fine. Best of luck.

BOOTMAN: WELCOME to irv2.com and the Newmar forum in particular You'll find a wealth of info here. Can you please give a little more info about the specific coach model you are asking about? I'm assuming you are talking the KSDP, but since Newmar also makes the KS in a gasser, I don't know for sure.

Again, WELCOME ! ED

What length coach are you looking for?
The top Topic in this forum will sent you to the Newmar web site they have all models and specs for each size coach with wheel base and lengths that may help. Some of the older year coachs did have large over hangs even after extending chassis frame. Most KS now have 242-248" wheel bases now on Workhorse chassis.
DP's are 228-258".
Also welcome to irv2.

Thanks for the welcome folks! I hang around the RV.NET site a fair bit under a different handle. This Newmar is on my short list.

The unit I am interested in is the KSDP 33 footer. I believe they stopped making it in this length when the Vantana came out in 06 I believe. It has the ISB and a 6 speed alison. Newmar has had quite a run with this format. I suspect it handles pretty good or they would have discontinued it. Any one with previous experince please advise.

thanks
