1996 Dutch star 3762 CADP

Looking at a Dutch Star 3762 CADP. Can anyone tell me specifics that I should be looking at regarding this coach. It does need tires and has 76K.The graphics are faded as are the basement doors on the passenger side, but frame and chassis are very clean and rust free.Any info on this coach would be appreciated. What does the CADP mean in the model number.Diesel Pusher I presume is part of it.
Thanks in advance.

I believe the "Newmar speak" for the Dutch Star products is DSDP. They used to refer to their gassers, such as my Kountry Star, as KSCA and the diesel Kountry Star was KSDP. Seems like you've got some contradictory info there. If your looking at a gasser, it is likely a DSCA.

Roger, aka "007" is the expert on these matters.

Here is a link to Newmar's brochures for that year. It doesn't show a Dutch Star for that year - doesn't mean there wasn't one, but it doesn't have a brochure.

The sticker in the cabinet shows it as a 3762 CADP and it is a diesel, Cummins 8.3. Wondering what the horsepower would be for that vintage motor?

Dutch Star shares a brochure with the Kountry Star.

The brochure linked above says 250HP and unloaded coach weight ~20,000 pounds

Call Newmar CS and ask for the build sheet on your coach - have your VIN # ready from the sticker.

My coach is a year newer and I was able to get the build sheet but I can tell you that their record keeping was not the best back then.

Sorry for the late response to thank all for the response and help.I have been busy trying to educate myself and make up my mind on this coach. It is a 1996 as stated and in need of tires and an exciter stator in the powertec 7000 gen. The clear coat is weathered but the interior very well cared for with new upholstery on all the seats and couch. It can be bought for 15K which seems more than reasonable with 76K miles and a rust free chassis.Again thanks to all. Thoughts?

I did not buy this unit as it had questionable issues with the gen set and a few other potential issues. I have instead bought a 1997 that is in considerably better condition with a floor plan I like better. When I added the obvious expense and possible hidden costs it worked out to be very close in price to one that is all ready to go. The only down side for me is it has an LP generator, but I can deal with that.

The reason I asked is because it sounds like the one we are going to look at today, down by cazenovia. Is it the same one? Can you tell us what potential issues you discovered? Thanks!

The old Newmar brochures indicate that your coach has a Spartan chassis. And if so, Spartan can send you exact load-outs and electrical schematics for your chassis. You just need to give them your VIN.

But this will only be for the chassis -- not the actual Newmar coach mounted to the chassis.
