Need Advice. Just bought it with 75K miles following death of owner. Can't seem to get the battery tray to slide out so I can look at the batteries. Meanwhile I have it connected up to AC power so they won't run down. My concerns are: How long can I expect to keep it on house power before the batteries burn up? and, How do I locate the tray release when there is nothing in sight that you can push or pull to get the tray to slide out? I've spent hours pushing and pulling everything in sight to allow the tray to slide but it won't budge. If there is some hidden lever to release it, I can't for the life of me locate it. Would appreciate some good advice. Thanks!

I have a 98' and the knob for the tray release is on the left side of the tray. Mine is almost impossible to get out due the the bending in the tray from all the weight of the batteries (poor design). Your knob might be missing so look on the left for a rod that runs from the front to the back and see if you can pull on that while someone else pulls on the tray.

Good luck,
Chris

Thanks, I'll look for it and see if that was the problem.
