I bought a '98 with 32K on it 3 years ago. I bought it over ebay sight unseen and I don't recommend that - however.....
After a lot of work on the interior (I missed the "slight" animal odor in the description) I ended up with a very, very nice motorhome. Mine had the Cummins but after putting over 34K miles on it myself in two years I only had to replace a belt, belt tensioner, throttle linkage connector, and a relay on the generator (propane). I also replaced the ball joints but probably didn't need too. You should check those and look at the boots for tears. If torn see if they will knock the price down a bit so that you can replace or have them replace them. I did have to fix or update a few items in the interior but nothing surprising and considering yours has a clean bill of health from a dealer you should be in pretty good shape.
I thought the hour meter was broken on my generator when I got it since it only read 60 hours. It wasn't and it performed perfectly.
I recently traded it in on a '07 Dutch Star and there are things about it I miss.
Newmar makes a good product - yes it is a rolling home so stuff will break.

The dealer changed all the fluids, then drove it 1000 miles from the auction (bank repo) to his location. As per dealer, all systems have been serviced and are in working order. Price is on the low side of Nada book.
Don't mind fixing things and should be able to do most everything myself, but also don't want to open a can of worms.
Anything that I should pay close attention to?
......Or should I just run far and fast away from this thing.
