We're looking at a 1999 Mountain Aire 39'. This will be our first motor home, although we've been full timing in our Travel Supreme 5th wheel for several years.

The MH looks like new, with copious service information and has lots of upgrades. The owner just installed new tires and had a full service. Ill health forces him to sell. He is asking $87,500 which appears to be a fair price.

Any feedback on the Mountain Aire will be appreciated. We've looked at so may models, new and used and so far this is the one which seems to suit us best.

Thanks in advance

Dennis

A hearty welcome to iRV2. I am sure you will find lots of useful information here.

Newmar (manufacturer of Mountai Aire) makes fantastic, well built coaches. I am not being prejudiced either. I have heard that from many, many folks that own other manufacturers products. Sounds like you have found a deal. Mountain Aire is a well known, respected unit.

If you aren't interested, send me an e-mail. Maybe I'll jump on it.

Dennis welcome to irv2 and the Newmar Forum.
Have owned a 99 MA it was a well made coach by Newmar. What chassis are we talking about.
If its the Ford chassis you will have to check the springs and ride height to ground measure from the seam at floor level to ground near your tires. The coach is heavy and the Fords had a problem supporting the coach body.
All is not lost a leaf spring added to all four tire locations will solve the problem. A good spring company can do the job. Cost about $1000 with alinement front end. I had this done for a 98KS, the MA I installed Air-Lift air bags myself. Both jobs were same in cost, bags just gave me more control of coach ride heights.
If its a Ford just check with owner he may have already done something.
The price looks good must have all the options.
You are at the right place for answers you will have a coach to be proud of like the rest of us.

I believe it's a Spartan chassis.

When you say 'must have all the options' what are you referring to. As I said, this is my first motorhome, and ignorance can be costly, can't it?

Thanks in advance.

Is it a front engine or rear engine? As for options do not have for 99 but you could go to "Newmarcorp.com" to compare different models options on coachs now. Some of what you have maybe standard now. Good for you, price still seems right just check maintinance records if any.
