Thought I let everyone know, what happened to our 2008 Newmar Coach during the first year... well it's only a Bay Star 2901... here are a few items, that I have to look after:
1. F53 - NOTHING, super, started out with 8 mpg and after 8800 miles we are now at 10.2 mpg
2. The lower Air Intake Grill has a few Bubbles underneath the paint... nothing to speak about or write.
3. Some of the struts screws in the storage compartments are broken... overtorqued!!?? or cheapos......
That was it on 5200 miles travels this first year.... Delivery trip was 2600 miles...
For trips around the Westcoast and to AB and SK it is a great little coach......
Next year we hope to hit the Westcoast of OR and CA... Hope our next one (a DP) will be fun too!

Happy travels
TW

Great report TW, and great results. The Bay Star is a great coach, as is all the coaches built by Newmar. My former coach, a DSDP, and second Newmar, I drove for 58,000 miles, with vertually no issues.
I guess though, thinking about it, for the money these rigs command, they all should be as good. Newmar's, in general, hit these results more consistantly than do many others, in my opinion.
Good for you, enjoy.

HeybTW

Nice Report

The F-53 Nothing that is Great!!! I have had very good Luck with the Spartan.

If you are ever in Napanee they will repaint whatever you want!!!

The screws, Go to Home Depot and get whatever Stainless screws you need to replace any broken and/or rusty screws. A DIY

Hello Rick, it is part of Surrey. Mainly along Highway 10, when you drive to the Ferries....
Only 40 km east of Vancouver.... It's a country
place in a big city... Love it, only 40 minutes to the Airport (YVR).

RVgreetings

We just spent last week a few days on the island
in Parksville... just super climate... pretty well NO winter close to the coast or here in the Lower Mainland.... maybe a few hours or days some snow and below ZERO!!! But only early in the morning.....
Our son and his family live in ON. It's not just around the corner!!!!
After the DW retires, we will make this our summerhome, winterhome (at least for 2 - 3 month) will be the Southwest... Lived there in El Paso / Texas in the 60's and loved it....

RVgreetings

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">02 VW Diesel TDI </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Our first coach was a 00 Dutch Star on a Ford chassis.....

I would like to know more about your 02 TDI. What model do you have? Can it be towed 4 down? Would you buy another? I have not owned a VW since the days of the bugs - 70's. What model and year would you recommend to a buyer right now?

I know they are very popular right now since they get such great mileage......

Thanks - Bill

Good Morning Bill, we bought a Diesel (our first VW Diesel) and pull it all 4 down..... with a Blue Ox.... it's a Standard 5 Speed.... we can drive up to 1300km (800 miles) on 1 Tank (55 Ltrs) of Diesel... This is our 23rd VW. Maybe the last one? We bought it new and have now 158,000 km
on it. I would think, that the latest TDI is always the best to buy... Up-to-date systems.
We always kept our cars a few years and a few hundred thousand miles..... The newest are called now BLUEMOTION
