2000 Dutch Star Tail light configuration

Hello all,
I am working on fixing all the little odds n ends on our recently acquired MH, and there are lot's of them, amazing how many systems are in these vehicles. Anyway I digress, what is the original operation of the four lights in the picture. Here is what I have starting from the right:

-Corner, Red: running light
-2nd in, Red: running, brake-turn
-3rd in, Red/white center: nothing, ???
-4th in, White: nothing, reverse light?

I realize 3 and 4 need fixing, but what are they? The #4 white is reverse I assume. #3 makes no sense. Possibly the wrong lenses are in #3.

I can fix the reverse light #4 white wiring or switch. Am thinking of making #3 the same as #2, running, brake/turn.

Comments, thoughts please? Thank you.

Could #4 be a docking light and #3 be backup light

Looks like they changed things fro 99 to 00; as my 99 has two , park/signal/brake lights ; and has aux back up lights mounted in the top of the rear cap.

I'm preparing, a post on cleaning up behind the light housings and repairing the ground wiring on the Bargman assemblies. You'll be surprised at the amount of crap your going to find when you get the lights out to access the wires.

Yes, lots of changes on the rear cap between the '99 and 2000. When our '00 came in I was disappointed that it didn't have the lights in the roof overhang.

Lou,

You have it figured out what each light does. When you checked to see if the backup lights worked did you have the engine running and in reverse? They only work if the engine is running and in reverse. As for the 3rd light in with the center clear lens I can't remember (I changed all mine to LED's) if that was also hooked up as a backup light. It is the correct lens that it came from the factory with. The 4th with the all clear lens is a backup light, not a docking light.

Yes the engine was running and in reverse gear, still nothing lit in either #3 or 4. I'm going to track it down, shouldn't be that difficult.

I have #1156, 1157 and 94 LED replacement bulbs installed, I plan to make #4 clear the backup, and #3 replace the lense with a full red like #2 and make it a running-brake-turn. They are all Bargman lights (series 84-85-86), would be nice to replace with LED light assemblies, but they are a bit pricey.

Thank you.

On my 2000DSDP the two inside lens are both for backup and as was previously mentioned engine must be running

Interesting. Took a quick look behind the lights and there is one plug with 3 prongs not hooked up to anything, on both sides. Switched the led bulbs around to eliminate polarity issue, still not working. Will do some more tests in a few days.
