DW and I are looking at a 2000 Mountain Air. Should the buttons on the smart wheel be lit?
Also does the air horn switch on the dash blow the air horns or switch the horn button on the steering wheel from electric horn to air horn?

Thanks
Mike

Welcome to the forum Mike and irv2.
If you have dash lights on the wheel would be lit also and the switch for horns on mine puts on air horn but you always have the standard horn on either way.
Here is a brochure and a Owners Manual for your 2000 its a 2001 because the 2000 is not available.
Enjoy the forums.

Yes just click on them, sorry not that fast my legs are getting slower.
When you get your coach there will be a build number for it if you go to COM-NET2 link in Quick Tips you can find more info on your own coach.

Mike, we have a 2000 MADP with the smart wheel and no the buttons on the wheel do not light up at any time.

This is actually the second one we've had, same year, same model. My brother now owns my first one and after not having one for a couple years we ran across this one last year and bought it.

As far as the air horn switch on the dash, if it is on the air horn will blow, if off the horn sounds like your driving a Volkswagen. You always have the standard horn, the switch just activates the air horns.

We love ours and if it's in good condition you'll be getting a great coach.

Question Dean if we have LED's on buttons on a smart wheel why wouldn't they light up if lights were on the dash panel?
Here is some information I found on Smart Wheels in Quick Tips.
Driving at night would make it difficult using the Smart Wheel.
This first link in group may have a answer for you.
Its those pesky grounds again.

I've never checked into it. I only know that that this being the second one I've had, neither one have lit up with the lights on. I'm actually in mine right now and double checked to make sure I wasn't crazy.

Someone mentioned theirs did (2002 DSDP) and i just figured they changed it on the newer ones.
