I read in the forum where Newmar uses 1 size fuel tank on the Spartan chassis. (150) It seems our 2003 Essex has a 115 gallon tank. I seldom run it down below 70 gallons but today I ran it down to where the triptek said I had used 102 gallons when the low light came on. Only 1 time in Mexico do I remember fueling 115 gallons (or were their pumps rotten). Thanks for your input.

The '03 Essex does have a 150 gallon tank with probably 140 or so burnable. The guages can make it look lower than it is. My last coach only took 108/112 with the guage showing near empty. I guess I could have driven it a good distance at that point. Point is, fuel guages are not as accurate as we would want them to be.

Peter,Thanks for the reply. I read the forum every day but seldom post. Your answers have helped me many times on other issues. I have tried not to ask without searching for previous posts that deal with my question. The reason this is an issue because we have are making bio diesel and are calculating our routes and distances, especially during the storm season for relief work. One more, have you heard of anyone putting extra tanks on the Spartan chassis or is it just too close to weight tolerances as it is?
