2004 DSDP slide lock actuator replacement

I had a slide lock actuator which quit working a month ago on the way home this winter. The one which was replaced was a screw type actuator and the new one was similar to the actuator used for the front step. It did not seem to be as good a quality as the original and makes a bit of a thumping noise when it starts to close and open. It works fine it seems but runs alot faster than the other one which means it's closes or opens faster than the other one. I saw this actiator in the parts store at Newmar but didn't realize they were also using this for the slide locks also. They don't seem to stand up too well. Also, it was $275.00 for this piece.

Has anyone had one of these changed with any similar comments?

This question applies to any Newmar MH who has power slide arm locks. Has no one recently had one of these changes within the last 3-5 years in order to help me with my question? If not, I guess mine was an abnormal failure.

toban if you do a search "Newmar slide locks" you will find many threads on the subject.
I guess many are talked out on the problems with the slide locks.
Its a pricey item does your unit have a MFG name on it may find on e-bay or some other place.
Glad you got it fix and get some mileage out of it.

I had several go out on my 08 DSDP. Some under warranty some not. The last one I bought was built different. This is where it came from. On my new MADP they sound much better.
