2004 Mountain aire 3778 gas rig, washer/ dyrer combo

What is the best combo Washer/dryer available that will fit in this model (04 mountain aire 3778) compartment.
How do you know if rig was pre-plumbed /pre-wired. Appears to be a step in the back of the compartment. Is this removeable?

You should be able to contact the Newmar factory with your Newmar coach serial number and they'll be able to tell you if you're prewired and plumbed for a washer / dryer. I'm pretty sure it was an option in 2004.
Another thing you should consider is how much weight you're going to add to the coach. I have a 2004 Mountain Aire 3651 w/o the washer/dryer and when I've got full fuel, full water, empty holding tanks and clothes, groceries etc for a 10 day trip, I'm slightly overweight. I normally run with only a quarter tank of water unless I know I'll be boondocking. Your coach is heavier than mine and I'm afraid you'll push yourself over the legal/safe gross weight by adding a washer and dryer. You should get your rig weighed when you're on a trip and see exactly where you are before you spend the money on the washer/dryer.

The closet your going to put it in would have been prewired and plumbed if the option was chosen by dealer or person that ordered the coach. My three Newmars all had the option.
Not sure about floor never installed one.
Some also will have a sticker on wall in compartment showing where to drill wall for vent location.
Washer dryers as seen in CW cat would work, I would get the vent one to keep moisture out of living quarters.
Your going to be a busy man with your projects.

Some add'l info for you. I looked at the 2004 spec sheet for the Mountain Aire and they show the washer/dryer as an option. There isn't anything about it being prewired or plumbed if you didn't order them originally. If you did order them originally, the install would be in the closet / shelves to the right of the sink in the bath area. At least that's where the floor plan shows them to be installed.

As far as the weight goes, you're NCC (net carrying capacity) should be pasted to the back of one of the kitchen cabinet doors. I would still get it weighed because I'll bet when you're loaded you're very close to the max if not over it.

LG 3431 which is the same physical size as the Spendite which is what your coach most likely was spec'd for. Just measure it and check on line the measurements of the LG(which is FAR superior to the Splendite).

Mike, our 2002 MA 3778 came with a Splendide 2000 model. As already said...to the right of bathroom sink with lots of shelf room on top. I'm not crazy about it but does OK in a pinch...size, not operation...seems to work fine. Would love stackable but as said...I'm sure we already travel "weighted".

The MA 3778 floorplan utilizes the lower closet next to the sink in the bathroom for the washer/dryer. If the unit is preped for a washer/dryer you will have a power outlet, hot and cold water pipes fixed to the left side of the back wall, and a drain standpipe mounted in the right rear corner of the closet. The step you reference on the floor is a plumbing and electrical chase and will need to be removed to accommodiate the Splendide one piece units.

I have a lowly Kountry Star but it came with a W/D hookup option. I took the MH and had all four wheels weighted. This allowed me to adjust my contents to balance out the load after the W/D was installed.

But as the person was installing the vent for the dryer portion, the floor fell through. He only weighed 145 lbs, the same as the W/D combo. There was only a small 1x1" trim stappled around the edge of the closet. Because nothing was in the middle, the person was required to reinforce the floor to complete the W/D installation.
