My friend who has a 2005 Mountain Aire ( gas 37XX ) Goofed up his slide today. Both of our kitchen slides have a lock to the rear thats in a little cabinet. The lock bar isn't very tight and tends to go locked on its own. His did today attempting to bring it in . Now the rear of the slide sticks out over an inch at the rear of the slide. I haven't seen it yet but need some hints to adjust. Could it have jumped a pin on the gear in the middle? I'm told there is a special 1 1/4?? inch wrench that can be used in adjustments. I know others have had this issue but couldn't find it in a search.

Thanks in advance

Larry

Hi Larry

This is from Dale re Oemtech

I got the following from Richard Bremen. He asked Newmar the same question.

quote:
Locate the driveshaft under the slide room in the baggage compartments.
Follow the shaft from the cogs that drive the room to a cup, trans torque
bushing. Those are the side to side adjustment points. With the room
approximately half way out take a measurement on each side of the room from
the same point on the sidewall to the same point on the slide room exterior
wall. Loosen one bushing 3 turns using a 1 1/2 inch wrench and tap on the
cup part with a hammer to loosen the wedge inside. Using a pipe wrench move
the side of the room (as needed) to make both sides even. Tighten the nut to
100 ft lb (tight) while holding the shaft with the pipe wrench.
If you need to call for assistance, Mon-Fri 7:30 am to 4:00 pm EST
1-800-731-8300.

This should do it
Rick

Rick,Dale,Richard,

This is exactly why I love this site. Half of my coach has improvements from "Omey" and others by now. Thanks for the information.

Larry

Today we took our instructions to my friends MH and it worked perfectly. The only instruction I would add is the pipe wrench needs to be just past the "cup" toward the Cog gear. . Worked to perfection. Now I R an Expert!!~!

Thanks again,

Larry

Hi Larry

Yes Depending on which side you wanted adjusted 'In' more you would use the pipe wrench on 'that' side!!!!
