We have a Newmar 3505 Gas. We were told that the water tanks under coach were heated when we purchased it but can't find anything on the coach that looks like there is heat. What should we be looking for? can't find anything showing the winter package.

If you can't find any switches for holding tank heat , you probably only get heat when you are running the furnace, not much but they say it gets some.

Thanks Max49. This is our first Newmar, so far we love it. Our previous MH was a Holiday Rambler, it had vents in the utility area that heated when the furnace was on but we can't find anything on this Newmar.

Hi dero,
Look in the utility bay. On many coaches there will be a switch on the wall, sometimes it is in the upper left corner. If the switch is not on not much heat will enter the bay. The switch controls a blower motor that activates when the furnace comes on. Also, look under and past the back wall in the utility bay. Look toward the end that has more room (frontwards or rearwards). Look deep into the coach. You may see a duct. This is where the heat will be provided from.

My post #4 should be ignored. I just went and looked a a 04 Mountain Aire Gas coach. what I mentioned in post #4 may not apply to gas coaches. My bad, please forgive.

On the coaches I looked at I could not find a blower motor for basement heat. The owners did not know of any such feature. If the furnace does heat the basement, it is done in a way that nothing needs to be done by the owner.

In addition, I could not see the fresh water or the holding tanks. They must be buried in the center of the coach basement.

Our Canyon Star has about 2" round openings in the heating duct that connect to the fresh water and gray/black water bays. They were very hard to find, but if you look at the ceiling of the compartments about where the heating duct passes over you should find them.

Lov2go is correct as to location. You will have a switch in water bay to left marked FAN 12v fan in foil tube will cycle as Gary described.

My 2000 mountain aire has a switch in the bathroom labeled "heat pads"

We also have a 2005 3505 and I have looked with lights and etc and never found the ( switch). I insulated my pipes in that area with foam tubing and installed a remote sensor for the digital thermometer inside. I have never seen the furnace vent but the area gets warmer when the furnace is on. I f I really get concerned I turn on on the 12v bay lights and it keeps it toasty. We have stayed in areas in the teens with no problems. Good luck and hope you continue to be as happy with your coach as we have.

thanks to all for the help. I can't find any switches but we made it without any trouble down to 22 degrees, we had a therometer in the utility bay, it read 37 degrees so it is getting heat from someplace but I think we better insulate the water lines as mentioned.
I have another question. There is a switch at the lower right side of the front door that reads xantrex remote switch. Does anyone know what it is for???
There seems to be a lot to learn about our coach but it is an adventure.

Not finding a switch is a mute point. As long as your furnace is on and as KayLarGo describes, with the tank compartment is warmer with furnace on, Newmar may have dropped the switch because the fan is controlled by the furnace cycle anyway.
I place insulation in the sewer- water bay because of the outside access holes in floor. Most other runs of piping is in between the floor insulation.

If you are inside the coach and looking at the lower right side of the front entry door, then it is the master on/off switch for the 12 volt bay lights. I turn most of the actual bay lights off except for the service bay area then if it gets cold outside all I need to do is turn on the master switch for that little extra heat.
