Yup ... although my Essex is a 2005, and has a smaller cabinet, the info was relevant. Bezel was Velcro'd (the industrial stuff). Old Phillips is in the dumpster and new 28" Vizio is awaiting installation.

Here's a picture of the supporting cast.

MorRyde TV1-021 TV Wall Mount | TVforMyRV.com

Samsung 40" Class 40" Diag. LED 2160p Smart 4K Ultra HD TV Black UN40JU6500FXZA - Best Buy

3 ft x 12inch OAK board, cut to size (about 27 inches).
3ft 1x1 oak board cut into 10 inch lengths (top and bottom supports).
bunch of bolts and nuts.

First of all, I don't like wood screws ( in a motorhome situation), so I didn't use any. Instead, I drilled holes all the way through and used screws with washers and stop nuts to hold it all together.

The next steps were to remove the old TV and frame. Then I mounted the TV mount to the Oak Board. The key to the TV mount is the vertical position.

Next step was to mount the bottom support to the oak board. This was done with 3 bolts and stop nuts. I wanted a bottom cushion to separate the wood from the counter. I could not find what I wanted, so I made my own gasket. I used masking tape to create a 1/4 inch mold at the bottom of the support and oak board. I then filled the mold with RTV (silicon sealer) and made the top of the mold nice and flat. I let that dry for a couple of days and had a nice cushion to absorb any shocks while travelling.

I drilled 2 holes through the counter and the bottom support and loosely bolted the assembly into place. The key measurement here is to know where the horizontal center of the mounted TV is and make sure the oak board is in the appropriate position.

Now comes the tricky part... mounting the top support to the upper cabinet. The bottom of the cabinet is actually 2 layers of 1/4 inch wood. The wood is not very strong, so I made sure it did not support any weight. It just provides stability. Also, the 2 layers of wood are 1.5 inches apart and I did not want to drill through both layers. This meant I had to use toggle bolts.

Using toggle bolts meant my drilled holes had to be large. The smallest ones I could find had me drill 1/2 inch holes. (2 of them). I drilled the appropriate holes in the top support and then put together the 2 bolt assemblies. Each assembly contained the following; bolt, metal washer, top support, rubber washer (1/8 x 1), 1/2inch rubber spacer (grommet), and finally the toggle nut in the correct orientation.

I pushed the top support with the 2 bolt assemblies into the holes and it all snapped into place. I then tightened every thing down and mounted the oak board to the top support. The mounting project was basically done.

So, here it is!

I have 2 wires connected; power and antenna. Its a smart TV with wireless capabilities. I will be streaming content to the TV from a computer that is providing DNLA services (plex server). Eventually, I will be hooking up a wireless dish receiver to the TV.

This arrangement will give this TV the following content; local streaming, internet streaming (if possible), HD - OTA, and Dish network.

Lastly, the camera's flash makes the oak board and screws much more visible in the pictures than they are in natural lighting. DW is in charge of beautifying the area around the TV once I remove the remaining unused wiring.

06 Essex Bedroom TV Replacement

I am in the process of replacing the Phillips TV with a Vizio 40".
I want to use the built in bedroom speakers on both sides of the cabinets. Can anyone tell me which set of wires behind the TV will work with the Audio Out RCA Jacks on the back of the Vizio? Wires from the Phillips left over are marked AUX 3 red & white wires with RCA Jacks, 2 wires marked L + & L - and 2 wires marked R + & R -.

Thanks
John Curtin

I'm embarrassed to say, but I never noticed those speakers before. I will poke around when I can, but it may be a while. Off hand, the L and R cables are speaker cables (left and right). If your tv has speaker out connections, then just hook them up.

My tv does not have speaker connections. Only digital out. If I want to connect to the speakers, I will need a converter of some kind (DAC).
Some thing like this.
http://www.parts-express.com/parts-e...ible)--180-999

Unfortunately, these RCA cables are only line level inputs to an AMP. So, I will still need an amp to power the speaker and control the volume.

I suspect you will need an external AMP of some kind to use those speakers.

Not clear on where your cables with RCA jacks are. Typically, the audio out on the TV are RCA female sockets. A RCA audio cable will have both ends with male plugs. If the TV audio can handle the ohm ratings of your speakers, you could hook them up without an amplifier. On an RCA plug, the center is (+) and the collar and sheathing is (-), be sure to connect them to the speakers properly.

John,Most bedroom speakers are wired from the radio up front and volume is controlled by the FADE Control of radio.
Wiring for speakers to bedroom may be found in your over head fan blower location.
