I am brand new to the forum. I recently purchased a pre-owned 2006 Newmar Mountain Aire 4304. I have been RVing for a year and a half, but this unit is head and shoulders above my other unit. My wife and I picked it up in West Palm Beach, Fl and drove it cross country to Arizona. The standard and optional features make this a unit that we will truly enjoy. One minor problem is that the previous owners did not retain all of the systems information manuals and as such I am not sure how to work some of the coaches amenities
I had all new AGM batteries installed upon my return to AZ, so the power to the coach was completely shut down. I have the Marksman M2a remote keyless entry with two remotes. One of the remotes works and the other does not. I replaced the battery in the non working unit and it still does not work. The light in the remote blinks but it does not open or lock the front door. Is there a reset procedure for the remote that I can use to get it to function?
Additionally, I have the keyless entry code pad by the door. There is a button inside near the passenger seat that is a keyless reset button. I would like to reset the system to a code of my choosing, but, again, I am not sure how to do it. Any input would be gratly appreciated. Thanks, from a newbee.

Leevito - first of all welcome to the forum & congrats on your MADP. You're gonna love it.
Now to your questions: The switch to reprogram your exterior keypad code is a black-capped push switch. It is located on the passenger armrest at the far back/top - completely hidden by the valance. Run your fingers around in that area & you'll find it. At least it is on mine.
Not to put you off but many of us have had problems with the OEM system - specifically the external keypad getting moisture into it & shorting out.
Fix for that is :

This is just an FYI for any of you with the keyless entry (ours model was KE-1601) who have had problems with the keypad quitting. Our original one quit working after 1 1/2 years. Went by Newmar who said just have to buy a new keypad ($360) which we did & installed. Well now 1 1/2 years later, that one has also quit. I sent an email to Essex Electronics (keyless.com) who makes these explaining the 2nd had now failed and at the price of the item, a year & a half seemed a might short life and asked for a better solution.
They advised they had had some issues but had "discovered the error of their ways" in November 2009. They have changed their method of assembly and one of the adhesives inside the unit. There is a new model, the AKE-5RH. They sent us a new keypad under warranty and the new unit is warranted for 3 years. Don did the replacement to ours yesterday and it was in general plug & play and the new one works much better than either of the originals did.
So just FYI if you are having issues. I'm hopeful this is the permanent solution.

There is a set procedure to reprogram the key fobs and to reprogram the exterior touchpad. I can't for the life of me find what these are tonight, but my suggestion is call Newmar service - Carl or Jeff are very knowledgeable & will be glad to help. (866) 463-9627.
Mark
PS - let us know how the fixes worked out & all of your new adventures!

Per Doc Marks' suggestion, I contacted Carl at Newmar and as usual, they were very helpful. Carl forwarded some info on the key fob entry system, but more importantly, he gave me a name and web site for the exterior keypad manufacturer. They are Essex Electronics and their web site is www.keyless.com and on the site they have owners information for all of the keyless systems available. Just look up your system and procedures for reprogramming the pad and the fobs is available. If anyone is interested, the system on the 06 Mountain Aire 4304 is the KE-1603. Again, thanks for the help.
