2007 MADP MAOYI wiper arm replacement

...the passenger side wiper arm is totally shot. Completely smoothed out the spline. It's made by MAOYI.

It's a 27" length radial wet arm with saddle.

Googled, and searched here but no specific answers. Where can I get a replacement wiper arm?

Thanks!

~George

Well, I'd start with Newmar. I always found them to have parts when I needed them, just not the cheapest!

Do a search on irv2 for windshield wipers. There is a company in, I think, Oregon that sells the splines. Price is very resonable.

George, unfortunately the inexpensive knurled bushings used on many like the Dutch Star are not the same. Your MADP has the same windshield and wipers as the Essex. I assume the pot metal in the arm is wallowed out, like it was on mine. The Newmar part number for the arm is 010492. It cost 86.43. If the knurls on the pivot shaft is worn smooth, it is part number 011218 (passenger side) and cost 54.31. I wasn't able to find them anywhere else. If you do, please share that information.

Was able to beat Newmar wiper arm price when I replaced my 2007 MADP 4528 wiper arms. Re-torgue the wiper nut at least once a year to prevent looseness and wallowing out of the splines. I talked to the engineer that designed the wipers for the Newmar one-piece windshield @ Diesel Equipment Company. Lots of knowledge there.

Good Luck!

Same thing happened on mine during an ice storm 2 months ago.

The pot metal splines had worn smooth. I think they are purposely soft, sacrificial in nature, to protect the rest of the mechanism.

I called Entegra for a replacement and was sent - by way of Diesel Equipment Company in NC - a new arm and pivot shaft mechanism with a new design. On the replacement, the splined pivot shaft is tapered and there are no splines in the new wiper arm.

That looks very close to the same as on our 07 MADP's. If the knurls wear off, you have to replace the whole pivot shaft.

Thanks for all the replies guys!

UPDATE: I called Diesel Equipment Company asking for the part but the guy said he needed the wiper kit number which is on the wiper motor or assembly. Crap. The MH is at the storage lot a distance away. I just brought back the busted arm.

Long story short, he told me to called Newmar to get the wiper kit number. In doing so, the nice parts guy at Newmar said he has the exact replacement for $86 with free shipping. WTH, I just ordered through Newmar since it's the real deal.

There it is.

Road King, sounds like you have your part already. Here's a parts diagram for the whole wiper assembly for future reference.

I have the parts but am waiting for warmer temps to do the repair. It does not look like a whole lot of fun working between the firewall and the inside front cap with a bunch of hard to reach spring clips. Let me know after you're done if there are any tricks to make it easier.

There's only one snap ring to deal with. If you have a small snap ring tool and wrenches to fit the 26mm nuts, you can do it in about 15 min. You should be able to remove the pivot shaft with the link arm still attached. That way you can work with the snap ring out in the open. When I removed mine, I matched the old assembly to set the depth of the backup nut and washer that goes behind the firewall. Reconnect the link arm and snap ring and install the new pivot shaft. Done. Look at the 2nd page of the parts diagram I posted above, and it will make sense.

...with all the spline issues, has anyone drilled a screw/bolt through the wiper pivot to the spline? It was an option I was considering. If it rounds off again, I'm drilling it.

Thanks for the guidance. I've looked at the diagram you posted. I think it will make much more sense once I remove the parts.
