2007 Mountain Aire

I went to look at a couple consignment units this weekend. I hadn't considered a Mountain Air, thinking they were a little outside my range. There was a 07 MADP 4523 there that looked very clean, and is priced about 30K below NADA Low Retail. The dealer has a A- BBB rating. Is there anything outside of the usual to look for with this model, beyond the obvious, VIN history, oil samples, 3rd party inspection?

We own a 04 Essex which has the same chassis from Spartan K-2. EGR valves only problem with 100K miles since new. Great coach from a great company Newmar. Do all the looking around, check to get as much info as you can, and check everything in the coach to see if it works. Should have Hydro-Hot which is great except when you have to fix it $. Might check the paint closely because we had checking which required new fiber glass and paint. Look at dark colors because that is where it is worst. Again great coach. Tom

Scotty would think this would be more in your line, plus this year would have
the CD, a Owners Guide.
People that have the Mid-engine swore by them and more have come on the market these days.
If you insist Brochure and Owners Guide.

I don't think a Mountain Aire ever came in mid-engine chassis.

The idea is good but you have to give up too much. I have yet to find a Class A TH with a KS bed. The living quarters are pretty sparse compared to other class A's. What year did they stop building the Allstar? Seems like there are only a few for sale around the country. The mid engine concept must have not gone over too well. The Canyon Star is a gasser and that is a no go for me. I would probably look at a truck conversion garage model like this one if i was going to go that direction.

There was a couple on display at the just concluded PRI in Indy this past weekend. I looked them both over. Both were in the high $300's. One had 2 baths, bunk beds, 600 hp and 13 speed trans. Not sure on the King bed.

Sorry I missed you. I drove down real early Friday and with the snow forecast, I left Friday night. Made for a long day. Maybe next year?
