Well gang, we are in Orlando to begin our hunt for the perfect (for us) MADP. How fortuitous that Independence RV in Winter Garden, where we have an appointment on Monday, was named one of the top Newmar dealers for service for 2005.

Will keep you all appraised of our progress! Whoopee ! ! !

Good luck in Florida with your search Mark, if you don't have any luck you might give Susan Dwyer @ Howard RV in Wilmongton,NC a call. 1-800-852-7148

They had an '07 MADP on the lot when I was there recently and are also an AWARD WINNING Newmar dealer...

Thanks Bob - I was stationed at Camp Lejeune twice and know Wilmington well - matter of fact we will be in Thousand Trails Chesapeake for 3 weeks in Aug and may stop off at Howard on the way up.

Thanks for the heads up.

Mark

DOC MARK: As I'm sure you know, the 07 MADP comes on a Spartan K-2, has the TRW "comfort drive" steering, and a two stage "Jake" brake. It is light years ahead of your FCCC based KSDP, so be prepared to be impressed. And enjoy the hunt! ED

Ed, I would wholeheartedly agree with those comments...

Having recently "been along for the ride" when my best buddy shopped for his '06 MADP, we came across the '07 MADP at Howards....While the '06 MADP is a SWEET coach, he and I both were amazed at the "look" and "feel" of the '07 MADP.
The addition of the MADP to the K2 family is sure a nice one!!

Counting the days now myself....for my own K2 chassis

If you can not come to an agreeable price, you might try North Trail in Fort Myers. They have (6) 2007 MADPs in stock. I was looking at them Monday.
I have never read anything bad about Independence RV. I bought my 2004 DSDP at North Trail only because they had the particular model I was looking for. It was just a bonus that North Trail is only 30 miles from my house.
I have been very happy with their service.
I did have to struggle to get a decent price, but that's pretty much how it is at most dealerships.

That's wild Tom.... Your experience is the exact opposite of what my research had found on North Trail... I've been reading their prices were good, but that they didn't have the service capability to "cover" or keep up with their sales numbers.... Interesting!!

My biggest concern is for service after the sale. I could care less about the sales force.
I have been there several times for service over the last 2+ years. They open at 8:00 AM and that is when I show up. I am almost always on my way in 2 1/2 hours. Last Monday I was there for 5 1/2 hours. During that time they checked and recharged the freon, it was low I think they said a pound and a half. They put dye in the system but the leak wasn't obvious.
They also replaced the Evans control valve.
They removed and tightened the mounting hardware for the TV because it was starting to rattle. My axle ride height was checked and reset to spec. Replaced my pass. side headlight (it was getting moisture inside of it). The forward roller on my LR slide was leaving spots of grease on the carpet. They checked the rollers on all 3 slides to make sure none of the others would leave grease. The panel that has the ant. select and power button for the TV sat. dome was remounted.
They ordered new fabric for the BR slide topper. This was all done under warranty except for the ride height adjustment which was considered a maintenance item.
There was at least 2 techs working on my MH for the time frame I was there, except for their hour lunch break.

I think dealing with a dealer has alot to do with the RVer and how he presents himself and the problem he gives them. But with some dealers neither matters just looking for the bucks. Very few salesman care once you sign there off to their next sale customer.
Its the techs and their boss to make you happy don't cross them.
