Our Essex has 8 house batteries that are 6 volt. What posts on which batteries do you hook jumper cables to if you need to jump a car off of them? I will ad picture of how they are hooked up soon.

1st choice would be to use the chassis batteries. If you have to use the house batteries, your 8 batteries are actually 4 pairs, each pair making 12V. If you don't understand which cables are doing what, the safest bet would be to use the POS and NEG where your main inverter cables are connected. Always connect to your coach and the NEG cable last

Scotty thanks for the reply. I think i understand the pair concept and where to jump from and when i last needed to jump a car cables would not reach start batterys so i did not use house battery's for jump but went another way.

I carry one of those battery jump boxes. Very portable and flexible. Avoids any possible damage via jump starting vehicle to vehicle.

Hi Trapperbob11,
You can get 12 VDC from any pair where the wire runs from the + at battery "A" to the - at battery "B". Connect the jumper cable to the + on battery "B" and the - on battery "A".

That is correct. As Gary mentioned, any pair will do as long as you connect to the NEG on the back and the POS on the front. BTW, where are the other two batteries located?

Garand/Scotty
THANKS
The other two batteries are in another slide next to the six you see. The starting batteries are in a separate slide below those two. I now understand how they are paired up and will only use as a last resort.
Take care

I noticed the diagram shows the two on the left slightly separated. I suppose that's the way they were doing it back then for the all electric option. My MADP only came with 6, with the AE option. I recently rebuilt the tray, and reconfigured it to add two more.
