Am looking at 2010 Ventana 39.3'. This will be our 1st MH and would like any comments on this year and model. It is new and a concern of mine is how long it has been sitting. I know from owning a few airplanes that one of the worst things you can do is let them go unused. What do you think?

Very good question.... however, I can honestly say that owning a Newmar coach makes us very proud. The quality is of the highest standard however, if it is made by man something can and usually will go wrong. Recommend a good quality service contract warranty. I have mine through Prism and my coach insurance through Gilbert RV in Florida who underwrites for Victoria Insurance out of Des Moines Iowa.
If I were you I would call Newmar and ask what type of service issues they have had on your model.

We bought a one year old left over but new Kountry Star DP nearly four years ago. Have had some typical "new motor home" problems but none related to the fact that it was a year old when we purchased. The michelin tires suffered some sidewall cracks at the three year point were replaced under warranty, The michelin warranty starts when purchased not from the manufacture date so they paid 90 % of the cost. Have not regretted purchase one time. If its new, it is new.

Hi cokeinator,
I know of no chronic problems with the coach you are considering. Tires and batteries may need to be replaced sooner than one would expect.

We have a 2002 DSDP 4090, replaced the tires last year, still have the OEM batteries, did replace the refer cooling unit. Will be replacing the slide toppers next, too wet to get out and measure for them. Skip the service policy and put the money in the bank, if you need it you have it, if not, you still have it.

I purchased a 2010 Ventana that was probably already close to a year old in July 2010. It's great and we love it, but as someone above stated, we've had some battery problems, maybe due to prior storage and more likely due to the storage I had to put it in while we weren't using it. We're off to fulltiming in March and know we will love our Ventana even more. Happy RVing

Welcome cokeinator to the Newmar forum & irv2.
My first Newmar was new but was on lot for year and 1/2 had my doughts on what problems I would have because of sitting.
Had it checked out by friend mechanic and just changed the fluids never had any problems with it.
You may want to check roof, because of Texas sun, seams should show no cracking dealer should correct if a problem.
Here is a brochure and a Owners Guide if your still interested and maybe a welcome to the Newmar family.
