I saw this article:
Newmar Corporation – Newmar Launches 2011 Fifth Wheels
Found it interesting and was wondering if anyone had any further info on this yet. We're looking to replace our current Kountry Aire and up till this point had been looking at the Elite Suites. If Newmar has a floorplan that will work with our needs we may stay with Newmar.

Thanks for the information Shaun & Amy that is what has held up the new 5th brochures we have been waiting for 2011.
The Kountry Aire & Kountry Star were their top of the line 5th's a few years back.
Allot of people were not to happy when they dropped the Kountry's we welcome them back , I think its more of the Miller influence coming back into their lineups.
If your looking for something new in 5th's you maybe a happy camper with the new lineup.

One major change that was announced at the International rally is that the names Cypress and Torrey Pine will no longer be used. They new names will be Kountry Aire and Kountry Star. This name change was effective as of the International rally.

Just curious as to why your looking at trading your unit. I've always loved the looks of the outside with the rounded corners but never cared for any of the floorplans. Only the X aire had the floorplans that would work with kids but that is out with my new TV now. If you remember I had been asking about mtd's and you had given me your take on yours but in the end I got one heck of a deal on a Dodge 3500 dually so I guess at this point if the kountry star has a good floorplan that might work if the weights are low enough.

We're only looking to trade because we need a different floor plan. When we ordered the Kountry Aire there was only 3 of us and now we have a, almost, one year old, making four of us. So, we're looking for more living room space and another bed space.
Other then that we love our camper and wouldn't trade it. We've found a 43' Elite Suites floorplan that we like alot, plus we like the construction and options that they have. So, it looks like we may go with that. Still looking though. That's why I am interested in seeing what the new Kountry Aires are looking like.
Good luck with your new truck!

Thanks on the truck. It sure does run fast. Just hope to have no problems with all this emissions stuff. We also have a daughter that will be turning one in October along with a son that will be three. That's my reason also for looking. We have a sofa and dinette that turn into beds so we have enough beds but I'm looking to go to either bunks, loft or toyhauler floorplan. I also want a full bath not a split one which all the cypress models have with bunks. So it is fun looking though I'm going to have to tough it out a few more yrs till either I get this track paid down or my wife finishes up her masters sooner. That little problem of not enough denero to go around oh well. Good luck on your search.

Least we forget what a Kountry Aire looks like here is a 09 that we had kicking around.
Have said before if I had it to do over would have a 5th wheel.
All we are waiting for now are the new 2011 5th wheels brochure's.

Anyone at the Hershey RV show this week? I understood the new Newmar 5th wheel models would be there.
You can also count me as one of Newmar's disappointed customers when they discontinued the Kountry Aire line last year. I'm not yet ready to trade our '08 Kountry Aire for a new one, but I sure would want to be able to buy another Kountry Aire like the one we have now when that time comes.

Went to the show Friday and was able to see the Kountry Aire/Star fifth wheels. They also had 2 Cypress there to showcase. Overall, from what I can see is they changed the names that's about it. I was hoping to see a bunk bed model and they did have one in the Cypress but no Kountry Star. Nice units. Looks well built but to me they feel like they are starting to get behind the times. The docking station where you control the hookups is the same as it was which requires you to squat down and is tight spaced compared to others. I did get a preliminary brochure on the Kountry Star's and it looks like some nice upgrades but when comparing it only brings them up to current features offered on other makes. For me their bunk model really leaves alot to be desired so unless they bring out more models they'll be off the list when it comes time to upgrade.

I saw the new Kountry Star and Kountry Aire at the Hershey show on Friday. Cypress = Kountry Star and Torrey Pine = Kountry Aire. The Kountry Start is still nowhere near the quality of my `05 Kountry Star. Names have been changed. Somehow Newmar believes that the new names justify the prices to be raised. But the quality remains the same - much lower than they used to be.
I went to the show sold on the DRV Mobile Suites for a future purchase. Personally, after spending almost 2 hours talking to the CEO of NuWa, I am a convert. We are now interested in the 38CKRD Hitchhiker. I like the floorplan better than any floorplans either DRV or Newmar has. BUT!!!!! No matter what we decide on we would be giving up 75% of our kitchen cabinet space and that is the main reason we are not buying now. I am planning a trip to NuWa this spring to visit the factory.
Newmar - you guys blew it big time when you eliminated the Kountry Star, Mountain Aire and Kountry Aire and scaled back on the quality with the Cypress and Torry Pine. IMOHO, Newmar 5er's are at the low end of the high end market now rather than the upper end that they used to be. At this point I think Newmar should give up on the 5th Wheel as you are too far behind the competition in the high end market. Concentrate your efforts on the motorhomes.

I have found the same with the KS gas the cabinets have not been matched and storage in kitchen & bedrooms & baths have not been equaled.
Maybe it will take a while for the Millers to get the good names caught up to the originals.
