2012 Bay Star - replace rugs

We have purchased a lovely, low mile 2012 Bay Star 2901. I find it a good handling and very comfortable unit.
I have replaced the small ceiling fan in the kitchen with a Maxx Fan Deluxe for better air circulation. I also installed a pair of Interstate 6V GC2-XHD batteries as there was a bad cell in the 12V Interstates that it came with.
My interest now moves to perhaps replacing the OEM shag carpet in the driver/passenger/motor cover area.
My better half would prefer an easier to clean/perhaps more durable alternative.
Has anyone done this or have any comments they would like to share about replacing the rug?
Thank you.
Ray

We have an 04 Essex and I just replaced the carpet in the front. It is a big project both taking up carpet and laying wood flooring. But the biggest part of the job was having to replace rollers under slide because it raised the floor over a 1/2 inch so the slide would not close with the right spacing. Might check that out first. Make sure what you replace carpet is the same height as what you are taking out.

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the reply.
We have lino (pseudo tile) in the kitchen area with just a "fringe" of carpet on the slide in front of the sofa.
Luckily, there would be no difference in height for us but we do have the motor cover to deal with.
Not sure if we would install a nicer carpet or some form of vinyl, like one of the new style marine deck coverings. Unfortunately, we can't do wood as it is not a flat floor.
It would be good to see what others have done.
Thanks again Tom. Any photos of your installation?

Welcome to the forum and irv2.
In QT's # 3 there is a section on remodeling of coach's your dog house is most likely fiberglass and rug will have to be formed around the curves as you glue it, should not have problem with the floor layout you only have many staples to remove from old rug.
Here is a Brochure and Owners Guide for you.
Below in my signature are many links for your Newmar.
Enjoy the forums and safe travels.
