2013 Bay Star odor issue

We are not traveling nearly as much as we would like so our 2901 is stored under cover a lot of the year. Problem is when we go to get it we notice an odor. It is not a bathroom kind of odor and I am wondering if it is coming from the ultra plush covering on the cockpit chairs and the queen sofa bed. Anyone noticed this? Any other thoughts.

Thanks, Andy

Try putting water in all your sinks, shower, or anywhere else you have a drain and see if it makes it better. Very often you can get a smell from your grey tank. The odor comes up the drain lines. If your not using the MH the water in the traps is evaporating. Try the water, and then sanitize your grey water tank.

You can buy some deodorizing tabs at walmart or CW for about $7 for a bag of 6 or 8...Just put one in you kitchen sink and run water over it to dissolve it. This will take care of any odors coming up thru the drains. We were getting a little odor from the grey tank and do this about every 5th or 6th time we drain the grey water tanks and have not had any odor issues since.

We use the Thetford gray tank liquid overtime we dump the gray. No odors.

And as others have said, make sure your traps aren't dry.

If you have a washer/dryer combo, pour 1-2 cups water down its drain which should be towards the rear of the unit. This is often overlooked.

You can certainly get out gassing of materials that will put an unpleasant odor in the air. The other source could be mustiness from stale air in the coach (usually mild but not necessarily the kind to panic over). While you coach is being stored are you able to keep it ventilated?
To very rid of the stale odor you might want to use ozone generator (ionizer) in the coach to freshen the air.
