2013 CS.3953 Hitch receiver height?

Hi all
Can anyone take a measurement for me?
Our CS 3953 is not accessible to me right now. I need to know how high it is from the ground up to the center of the 2" hitch receiver. I know I need a drop down Receiver but need to know 4" 6" or 8". The pins on the tow car tow bar, are 16" above the ground.
Thanks in advance.
Please and Thank you
Milo

Smile 2013 3953 Hitch Height

Had the same question before taking delivery of a new toad for our 3940 (2013) several years ago. Thought we needed as much as an 8" or 10" drop. We bought a new drop adapter (which I'll gladly sell you if you really end up needing it). But, the fact was that it was to much drop and we quickly learned that we could easily bottom out if we used it. I can't get to the RV to give you an exact measurement at this time as it is in storage. Won't see it for another 2 weeks. If you still need the measurement at that time drop me a note. From memory I think we ended up with a 2" (possibly 4") max drop. Works great in our case. Even though the connection points on the toad were lower than we had with our previous toad the new "pins" that slipped into the new baseplate mounts were designed in such a way that they brought up that end of the tow bar and compensated for some of the height difference. It worked out for us but it seems every installation is unique.

We tow a miata with an 8 inch drop hitch. The receiver pins are at 14 inches above ground. We also tow an Equinox and use a 4 inch drop hitch. We have a Roadmaster base plate on both cars. You should also get a Hitch Tightener (1.25 to 2 inch size) to steady the receiver. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input! I finally got to measure the center of the receiver to ground as 24". So a 6" drop works out perfect for my application.
Camping world has on sale a Road master drop hitch 6000 lb rating, for $54.95. less than Half of what the specialty hitch shops wanted!
