2014 Dutch Star Cold Weather Camping

We are out in our Dutch Star and it is going to get down to about 10 degrees tonight. Is there anything special I should do to keep the pipes from freezing up or will just the heat from inside the coach keep them from freezing up? Should I turn on the Oasis Burner for the Hot Water Heater? At what temperature do the Heat Pumps on top of the coach quit working?

Thank you for your help.

jimfryar ... based on my experiences in similar weather, here is what I think (assume you are plugged into shore power).
  • Fill your water tank and unhook the shore hose.
  • Make sure your sewer hose is not holding water or maybe just put it up.
  • Turn on the oasis unit (switch to furnace) and keep it running as that will keep your bays heated. In 10 degree weather, I would turn on the AC 2 switch plus the diesel burner.
  • Forget about using the heat pumps ... I'd turn them off.
  • Turn on the holding tank warmers if you have them.
  • Turn on the engine heater if you are heading out in the morning.
That should do it ... but let us know how you faired in the morning.
