2014 MADP vs. 2015

Anyone notice the huge price increase between 2015 and the 2014 Mountain Aire's? All prices are supposedly MSRP. They are 2 feet longer and 50 hp more, but is that worth 200K?

here's a 2014 at $369,900:
2014 Newmar Mountain Aire 4361, Winter Garden FL - 111385691 - RVTrader.com

Here's a 2015 at $569,507:
2015 Newmar Mountain Aire 4553, Winter Garden FL - 113114248 - RVTrader.com

These have been discounted for year end close out, I hope!

I don't think the MSRP of $369,900. on the 2014 MA4361 is correct////but then I could be wrong.

A couple of nice coaches, but I'd take the 2014 just for the fireplace!

The '15 has a different frame, engine, and transmission.

2014
frame: Freightliner XC-R
engine: Cummins ISL 450 hp 1250 ft lbs torque
transmission: Allison 3000

2015

frame: Freightliner SL
engine: Cummins ISX 500 hp 1550 ft lbs torque
Transmission: Allison 4000

Very big price difference between those items alone.

It cost money to play with the nice toys. Try a less quality coach if New Mar is too much.

Frank, if you go directly to the Independence RV site you will see that the 2014 MADP 4361 you found on RVTrader has an MSRP of $495,749.

Now that was a nice, helpful post.

Actually he was only asking about the reason for the price difference between the two, which PDR did a nice job of providing.

By the way, Newmar is only one word. I'm not familiar with the New Mar brand of toys.

Thanks, John, I did not know that it was such a big price difference.

That will be determined next spring when the 2016s are out. There are three potential manufacturers on my list - Entegra, Newmar and Tiffin. No one has the perfect coach. Any one will have good points that the others don't and also areas where the others have them beat. I really prefer the hung sidewall construction of Newmar and Entegra but Tiffin has some very liveable floorplans. The 2016s will have new floorplans and features so the jury is out until then. I wish April would hurry up and get here. This waiting thing isn't all it's cracked up to be.
