I'm no expert but some of the items on your list are specials vs done a delivery. Plugs and 12 volt, microwave are specials. The other items maybe delivery items that you should contacted service dept to communicate and ask for what can be done. The specials should be part of the order. No warranty on the information provided.

Bob - that's the $xxx question! I tried to get an upgrade price before closing out our order - to no avail. Hence it isn't in our order. I've read that someone had theirs changed out during factory delivery - so we're considering the same. Evidently they're quite the ticket...

Perhaps someone else can comment on the upgrade cost

Canuck53 - Agreed! However, we've long since signed off or order, and we don't want to jeopardize our build / delivery dates. So - with continued reading of this (idea filled) forum, we've discovered a "few more items" we'd like included.

Newmar advised me to make a list of any potential changes / additions we want made during factory delivery, and they would provide a cost estimate. SO - I thought this is our opportunity to evaluate updates, and this time - to determine their value (benefit / cost) before committing - what a concept! Very Nice!!

I thought there was a magic date that you could not add any specials since the build was in the que and materials etc were planned and purchased.

I hope not to be in the situation where I miss key dates if/when I go down the path.

Yours isn't? I'm surprised, I know our 2000 DSDP was and also the '02, haven't checked our Advantium yet.

Another way of skinning the cat....
Do a custom build without the standard MW (get a credit)...
Buy the GE Advantium at Home Depot, take it with us to the factory delivery & you have 5 days to install it...
The tech assigned to you would most likely help install it...

In 2002 the upcharge for the Advantium was about $750 or so. It wasn't even listed on the order sheet back then. As I remember we had one in our 2000 DSDP too and again it wasn't on the order sheet.

Wonder why Newmar doesn't make the GE Advantium as Standard Equipment on ALL of its models...
That would make us all happy...
