2015 DS water pump issue

The 12v water pump keeps turning itself off. If I activate the wall switch I can hear the kbi relay click, the pump comes on pressures up and eventually turns itself off. I called KBI they did not seem to think it was their system and stated the pump was controlled by another board? Called Newmar CS who suggested I replace the pump.

Has anyone experienced this?

Is this with a Faucet OPEN or when there is no 'demand' ?

both. it will shut off when not in use and when in use. It seems to know when I am in the shower.

The pump should only run on demand as needed but the light on the KIB panel should remain lit when turned on even if the pump isn't actually running.
If the pump is turning itself off and not providing pressurized water, I would look at the KIB switch and see if it is illuminated, if so, I would suspect the water pump control unit. If the light is going out without actually pressing the switch then I would suspect a wiring/switch problem somewhere in the circuit.
Note: these switches are "momentary", touch once for on, touch again for off.

when the pump quits, the light goes out.

This happened to us for a short period and then failed completely. It was the pump controller switch located in the wet bay. The KIB light would turn off.

there is a rocker switch in the wet bay that will turn the pump on. is that what failed? or is there a separate controller? do you know if its a KIB or other brand?

The water pump latching controller is mounted on the forward bulkhead of my wet bay. The manufacturer is Intellitec 00-00145-100. If you search this Forum it is possible to bypass the controller to see if it is the problem. It has been discussed several times. Amazon has the part.
