2015 Dutch Star 4018: Just Ordered Mine

First off, I want to thank all the people on this Newmar Owner's Forum for their willingness to share their RV and Newmar knowledge so that others can learn from it and also make a more informed decision. As a result of my research, I have placed an order on a 2015 DS4018. The estimated delivery date is 4/14 and I plan to visit the design center shortly in order to customize my DS to my liking. The things that were important to me are as follows (not in any particular order):

1) Quality, Quality, Quality
2) Customer Service
(Note: I'm not even a Newmar owner and I've been getting great support from Newmar just from my e-mails to them)
3) Ability to customize
(Note: Customize not only the inside, but the outside colors too. How awesome is that???)
4) Comfort Drive
(Note: I was able to drive the unit during a rainstorm and faced wind gusts and CD was just a wonderful experience. I've had too many white knuckle affairs in my gasser, so I'm looking forward to long drives with CD).
5) 450 Cummins / Side Radiator
6) Tag axle on a 40ft RV / Bigger Tires
(Note: added driving stability, carrying capacity, and braking power)
6) The new updated look with the integrated roof awnings
7) Value for my hard earned money
8) Independent Front Suspension

These are the things that I wished the DS had:

1) Integrated seat belts in driver/passenger seats
2) Built-in Soap Dispensers at all sink locations
3) Overhead fan in the bedroom
4) Surge Protector (I'll be adding this)
5) Specific storage area for sink covers (like in the Tiffins)
6) Wood dash look / Steering Wheel

The other RVs that I was looking at were the Tiffin Allegro Bus and the Entegra Aspire that were 40ft or less.

Congratulations tomakat on your up and coming DSDP.
In case you need them a Brochure & Owners Guide for you.
The NEWMAR CORP LINK.
Some of your items in your wish list can be added by yourself its possible that other people would not want the same.
I would ask about the fan if they would select a good location in bedroom, because of slides, if they could prewire a location for fan type you want.
The sink covers were discussed in thread were some owners placed theirs recently.
Different surge protectors maybe a reason no decision by Newmar as to which one to use leave that up to you but they will install.
Wood dash look may want you to consider a King Aire or higher coach some day.
You know about the QT's links and info in them from many members for improved Mods and items in your new coach detailed by them plenty of reading to pass the time.
Safe travels to Newmar Kountry.

Same wish list

We ordered a DS4018 in November, our delivery date is about the same time as yours. We did highly customize our DS. My wish, like yours would to be have fan in bedroom. We had a Tiffin Phaeton with a fan and used it a lot! I am sure you are as anxious as we are for DS to arrive.

You looking for an exhaust fan in the bedroom, or a room fan (4 blade style)? Newmar added a 12V room fan to ours as a special. Would they not do that for you?

I'm looking for a room fan. I haven't met with Newmar yet to ask, but I'm glad to hear that they did that for you. Did you have to pick the fan and they installed it? How did that process work?

We just told them we wanted one, they gave the dealer the specials price, and they installed it at the factory. I think the selection of 12V fans is limited, so we were not given any choice.

It's multi-speed and reversible. Works fine.
